Maayafushi - Ari Atoll

The island of Maayafushi is situated in the southern part of the Ari atoll, and is reachable by speed boat or in 20 minutes by seaplane from Malè’s international airport. The island is characterised by an informal, relaxing atmosphere under an attentive Italian management.

The structure is steeped in vegetation on a small island entirely surrounded by a white sand beach.

Accommodation includes 60 one-floor Beach Bungalows with wood-framed roof covered with palm branches, scattered along the beach and 7 Maldivian Vip Bungalows set slightly inland, each with a small private garden (some Beach Bungalows can accommodate up to 3 people). They all offer air conditioning, pusher fan, telephone, mini bar, hairdryer, wooden patio and typical Maldivian open air bath (maximum privacy is guaranteed).

Also available are 8 new Over Water Bungalows, each measuring about 40 square metres, with direct access to the sea and terrace, air conditioning, ceiling fan, mini bar and hairdryer. A safe is available for an extra charge.

The communal area includes separate reception and the main restaurant (which offers Italian dishes and is open for the main meals: breakfast buffet, lunch and dinner with alternate table service and buffet), Maldivian-style coffee shop and bar with sand floor, a boutique, a TV area with VHR and satellite link. There is also a medical room with Italian doctor and an internet-café (charges apply).

The ‘all included’ formula includes full board with drinks at mealtime and throughout the day (water in jug, wine and soft drinks by the glass, draught beer, cold tea, ‘American-style’ coffee), snacks (pizza, focaccia, biscuits), alcoholic beverages from 13.00 to 24.00, beach towels. Charges apply for espresso coffee, major brand alcoholic beverages, bottled water, ice creams, smoothies, drinks from the bedrooms’ mini bar.

Sporting and leisure activities such as windsurfing, canoeing, aqua-gym, stretching, beach volley and table tennis are free of charge. Members of our entertainment staff organise sports activities throughout the day and evening entertainment at night with piano bar, games and cabaret. Charges apply for catamaran sailing, boat hire, excursions to nearby islands, massages, snorkelling (equipment and boat hire) and any activity offered by the diving centre which, from December 2006, has been under the direct management of Albatros Top Diving.
