SCUBA DIVING INSURANCE - DAN EUROPE

For safety reasons, all licensed scuba divers and all diving course participants must have a scuba diving insurance covering any cost related to recompression in a hyperbaric chamber which, at the Maldives, are not covered by any welfare assistance scheme.

ATD Diving Centers signed an exclusive agreement with DAN Europe Foundation; customers not covered by a valid insurance must underwrite a temporary two-week insurance directly as part of our diving courses.
This is how ATD Diving Centers guarantee DAN Europe assistance and high diving safety standards in all diving activities.

For several decades DAN, a no-profit organisation, has been a world leader in insurance coverage specifically related to scuba-diving activities. DAN is also a world leader in scuba-diving medical research and, thanks to years of experience in the logistics of diving medical emergencies, it has accumulated unrivalled experience even in the remotest regions of the world.

Being insured with DAN means being able to rely on the solidity of a no-profit organisation and its clearly worded policies, which have been devised by scuba divers for scuba divers, and taking advantage of its vast experience on the field, which in several cases has made all the difference in terms of positive management of an accident.

Normal insurance policies generally do not provide for cover for scuba diving accidents and in any case at best guarantee a refund of those medical expenses which, when abroad, are not covered by the national health service and are usually very high.

DAN on the other hand manages any emergency directly thanks to its operative units located all over the world, and covers any necessary expense. DAN owns the only emergency telephone exchanges operated by personnel specifically trained in the identification and management of scuba-diving emergencies and in communicating with scuba-divers in trouble and understanding the problems related to scuba-diving emergencies.

Our commitment to quality led us to decide that all this is something we cannot do without!

For this reason all our customers who are not already members of DAN, be them licensed scuba-divers or students taking part in a PADI course, can become DAN temporary members for the duration of their holiday by paying a minimum fee, thereby taking advantage of all assistance services and insurance coverage provided for by DAN membership.

All Albatros Top Diving diving centres subscribe to DAN Europe, including the highest level third-party liability insurance coverage, the ‘DAN Club Membership’ type CBN, with a limit of liability of € 2,600,000.

	Loss of a hand or a foot is understood to mean their anatomical loss at or above the wrist or the ankle. Loss of the sight of one or both eyes is understood to mean the irrecoverable loss of that faculty. If, as a result of the accident, You suffer even more than one of the above-mentioned injuries, We will only indemnify you for one of benefits above which is the highest.
